Reserved for graduates musicians, the Advanced course for orchestra musicians, allows you to hone specific skills in symphonic, opera and ballet repertoire, thanks to an intense activity in Italy and abroad.
The La Scala Academy Orchestra has been conducted, among others, by Zubin Mehta, Gustavo Dudamel, Fabio Luisi, Iván Fischer, Yuri Temirkanov, Gianandrea Noseda, Placido Domingo and Marc Albrecht, to name just a few.

 

01. 2 YEAR FOR FREE

In this two-year course for orchestra musicians, the Accademia offer students the opportunity to acquire a wealth of exclusive experience at no charge, actually providing a monthly stipend.

 

02. SPOTLIGHT

Numerous occasions to perform on the world's premier stages are offered every year. The Accademia Orchestra has performed in such prestigious international venues as Teatro alla Scala, Turin Conservatory, Teatro Grande of Brescia, Greek Theatre of Pompeii, the Ravello Festival, MITO Settembremusica. It also has a long list of tours to its credit, notable among which are the United Arab Emirates in 2008 and, with Teatro alla Scala, Denmark in 2009, Russia in 2010 (Moscow and St. Petersburg), and Oman in 2011 and 2012.

 

03. ON STAGE

The Orchestra regularly takes part in the "Academy Project", an opera on the La Scala season program produced entirely by students. Among the most recent titles featured in the "Academy Project" we mention Così fan tutteLe nozze di FigaroLe convenienze ed inconvenienze teatraliL'occasione fa il ladro, L'italiana in AlgeriDon PasqualeLa scala di seta, Il barbiere di Siviglia and The magic Flute. The Orchestra is also frequently invited by Teatro alla Scala to accompany ballet corps productions, such as A Midsummer Night's Dream, Giselle, L'histoire de Manon and Eugene Onegin.

 

04. CONDUCTORS

Over the years, the Orchestra has been conducted by such luminaries as Marc Albrecht, Roland Böer, David Coleman, Placido Domingo, Christoph Eschenbach, Ádám Fischer, Lawrence Foster, Marco Guidarini, Manfred Honeck, Fabio Luisi, Susanna Mälkki, Michele Mariotti, Zubin Mehta, Pietro Mianiti, Yuri Temirkanov and enjoyed the collaboration of soloists of the caliber of Herbie Hancock, Olga Kern, Lang Lang and Alexei Volodin.
